Tie
thingiverse
This is a tie designed with interlocking panels that are secured by flexible connectors featuring living hinges or springs. Three distinct thicknesses of these connectors exist: Flexconn Rev.0 - 0.03125" thick spring Flexconn Rev.1 - 0.03500" thick spring Flexconn Rev.2 - 0.03800" thick spring Flexconn Rev.3 - 0.04000" thick spring These connectors do tend to break, so printing extra ones for spare parts is recommended. The Flexible Sheet plays a crucial role in preventing tie breakage when the Flexconns fail. Four countersunk machine screws (4-40) are used to fasten the Flexible Sheet and the Flexconn to the panels. These 28 screws can be sourced through boltdepot.com/product-details.aspx?product=9714 To print the panel, it's recommended to orient the build vertically for optimal quality and speed. Ensure that the observable front surface of the panel faces outward during printing. Flexconns should be printed flat. If printing panels and Flexconns in different colors, make sure to position the Panel above the Flexconn so that only the support for the panel emerges with two colors. The design's recommended scale range is from 5ft 3in to 5ft 8in, requiring additional length for individuals above this height. Scale uniformly, and also scale the Flexconns and Flexible Sheet accordingly. This tie was inspired by the "Sweet As!" Tie designed by madeonjupiter.
