These intricately designed models boast near-scale precision and detailed craftsmanship. The sizeable model is a result of its high level of detail. It features animatable weapons such as Harpoon missiles, 5" automatic gun turrets, multiple radar and radio receiver antennae, propellers, and rudders. These models are available in various formats. The Ticonderoga Class Cruiser, also known as the Aegis cruiser by the media, was the first ship to be equipped with a sophisticated weapons control system. Initially developed as a modified Spruance Class, it was later reclassified as a Guided Missile Cruiser when the Aegis System was integrated into the design. Between the 1970s and early 1990s, 28 of these vessels were built. The second variant saw upgraded electronics and a redesigned superstructure, encompassing Cruisers CG49-CG58. In the third variation (CG59-CG73), Ticonderoga models included upgraded missile launch systems, such as VLS Vertical Launch systems. These ships are now integral parts of the Navy's surface fleet striking arm.
