The Ticonderoga Class Cruiser, famously known as the Aegis cruiser, was initially a modified Spruance Class before being reclassified as a Guided Missile Cruiser with the integration of the advanced Aegis System. Constructed between the 1970s and early 1990s, there have been 28 vessels in this series. The second variation included upgraded electronics and a revamped superstructure for Cruisers CG49-CG58.
