These highly detailed models accurately represent the Ticonderoga Class Cruiser, also known as Aegis cruisers due to their advanced weapons control system. Originally designed as a modified Spruance Class, the US Navy reclassified it as a Guided Missile Cruiser upon integrating the Aegis System. Built from the 1970s to the early 1990s, there have been 28 Ticonderoga vessels. The second variant featured upgraded electronics and a redesigned superstructure for cruisers CG49-CG58. In the third variation (CG59-CG73), ships were equipped with enhanced missile launch systems like VLS Vertical Launch systems, now forming part of the Navy's surface fleet striking arm.
