Featuring intricate detail and near-scale construction, these models boast a notable size due to their level of realism. Armed with animatable weapons like Harpoon missiles and 5" automatic gun turrets, the model also comes equipped with various radar and radio receiver antenna, propellers, and rudders. It is available in multiple formats and would make an excellent addition to any 3D fleet. Known as Aegis cruisers by the media, Ticonderoga Class ships were the first to be armed with sophisticated weapons control systems. Initially conceived as a modified Spruance Class, the US Navy reclassified the vessel as a Guided Missile Cruiser upon integration of the Aegis System. From the 1970s through the early 1990s, 28 Ticonderoga vessels were built, with subsequent variations boasting upgraded electronics and redesigned superstructures (CG49-CG58). The third variation (CG59-CG73) introduced enhanced missile launch systems, including VLS Vertical Launch systems, which now form part of the Navy surface fleet's striking arm.
