Tic'
thingiverse
I designed this as part of a project focused on exploring tics and finding ways to attach functions to repetitive movements that people are naturally prone to. The most common tic I discovered was the tapping tic, where people often tap their fingers or feet while working or feeling anxious. My main objective was to find a way to link a function to this movement. I created the pedal as an ironic twist - it alerts you when you're tapping by making a tapping sound with the finger and drum. The tap register records finger tapping as small marks on the surface being tapped, preventing repetitive behavior. The design can be downloaded and used as a drum pedal; all that's needed is rubber bands. It's a simple model with multiple uses, intended to illustrate a basic concept. Unfortunately, my printer was not large enough to print my file, so I had to model it differently. Comes with two parts.
