The left tibia/fibula of a Civil War-era male is shown, affected by osteomyelitis with involucrum. This model depicts a hollowed and reconstructed version, generated using Poisson surface reconstruction in Meshlab, based on the downloadable version available from Morphosource (microCT). The specimen AFIP1000311 comes courtesy of the National Museum of Health and Medicine. A second specimen, AFIP1002692, is also provided by the same museum.
