Video: https://youtu.be/-qzkJFe4Lkg The printed parts used to make the Tiamat tool-changer are shown in this image, taken at MRRF2019. Initially, I had not planned on releasing these designs since they were intended for a one-off motion system only. However, it seemed that there was enough interest for me to leave the STL files available for people to modify if they wish. This tool-changer utilizes a full-size hobby servo and an 8mm rod to rotate between tools, as seen in the video above. Five millimeter (or three-sixteenth inch) ball bearings in the carousel are backed by springs, which I sourced from ballpoint pens, and serve as detents into the lower sled piece to lock the position during tool changes. The carousel is specifically designed for E3D V6 hotends. A variety of M3 and M4 nuts and bolts, along with 608ZZ bearings, are required for assembly. I am happy to answer any questions if you want to build something based on this design, but since it was not intended as a step-by-step project, I will not be providing significant details here.
