Thyssen-Krupp Stairlift Switch Operator
thingiverse
The Thyssen-Krupp Stairlift is a remarkably useful invention, but if you want the lift to descend two levels, you must hold down the switch for more than two and a half minutes. For me, this was so infuriating that I created a tool to add a HOLD-function to that switch. The waiting time remains unchanged, but it's no longer necessary to keep your finger on the switchknob constantly. Once the lift has arrived, you must release the switchshifter. Forgetting this can drain the battery stored in the switch. Fortunately, there is no problem with the lift operation itself, as the operating switch on the seat overrides the wall-mounted switch. Be aware that a holding device like the one described here is NOT recommended by Thyssen-Krupp: this is due to safety concerns. Installing and using this switchholder is your sole responsibility. The actual latch consists of two parts that are bonded together with superglue. Print the parts, remove any flash and clean them thoroughly. Remove the inner battery holder from the switch housing by unscrewing it, then take out the 2 screws holding it in place. Remount the housing as shown in the picture. The so-called switchkey can be easily pulled out; the printed knob can be clamped onto that key before pushing it back into the wall-mounted device.
