Thundercats Claw Shield

The Lion-O's Claw Shield is a defensive, shield-like gauntlet worn on his left hand. It covers his entire arm up to his elbow, serving as a scabbard for the Sword of Omens when it's in dagger form. Thundercats' Claw Shield Starting from scratch in 3D Studio Max, I used a digital 3D scan of my hand as the base model. This allowed me to create a wearable piece with good dimensions. I then modeled the claw shield on top of the scan mesh, ensuring its accuracy and wearability. I imported the model into Zbrush for adding intricate details using the slash 3 and move brush. The result was a highly detailed Claw Shield that resembles Lion-O's iconic accessory. To make it printable, I cut the model in two parts using Rhino software. This piece comes with the Thundercats' Sword of Omens, which you can download from my colleague Lloyd Roberts. The Sword of Omens is available for free and features 8 parts that can be scaled to fit your arm and fingers. After printing all parts, I assembled them using super glue. Once dry, I painted it in its iconic color. An improved version of the Claw Shield is currently in development!
