Thunderbird 1 Studio Model Size

Thunderbird 1 Studio Model Size

I was asked to create a larger version matching a studio model sized Thunderbird 2. The main instructions came from the smaller version, which is heavily remixed from its original source. To accommodate the new size, several changes were made. The body had to be split into two sections for easier painting and was actually divided into three parts for better coverage. This also meant that the fuel drum had to be split in half. The engine design was simplified by removing the middle section, which allowed it to have fewer components. An option was added to omit the nozzles since metal ones were used instead. The gear hole in the wing was deepened to accommodate internal details created with scratch parts rather than 3D printing. Improvements were also made to the intakes and fuel drum cutouts on the wings. Additionally, the landing gear tubes are now available in two different diameters. All text has been removed since it was replaced by paint and transfers. Some changes may have slipped my mind, but they're likely minor. I haven't checked if this version still builds correctly for the smaller model, which is something I should address soon. All images are courtesy of Paul Harrison, whose skills with sandpaper and paint are something I admire greatly and aspire to match.
