This is my inaugural dive into blender, and I'm experimenting with creating a thumb support. My girlfriend sliced her thumb badly, so we wanted to prevent further strain on the injured area. To achieve this, I designed a mold that fits snugly beneath her thumb and will be securely fastened in place by an elastic bandage. The curved surface facing towards her hand ensures comfort when she moves her thumb, reducing discomfort and stress. On the underside, a series of protrusions help to anchor thin bandage strips in place - my girlfriend tends to favor this method, using only two slim strips instead of a larger one to cover the wound completely. For optimal results, you may want to reduce its dimensions slightly along the Z-axis. Although it might be somewhat wide for those with slender fingers, scaling back its width to 70-90% should still provide a comfortable fit for most users.
