Thumb Screw Knob

Every time when I need some thumb screw, I'm missing some of its dimmensions in my collection. It is quite annoying. The easiest way to have a thumb screw is to make your own i.e. DIY by using ordinary hexagonal socket screws of type ISO4762 or DIN912 (sometimes named MC6S) and 3D printed, thumb screw knobs. I have designed knobs for: M3, M4, M5 and M6 screws. The hole in hexagonal part is just to improve rigidity, by eliminating infill in this region. Prior to pressing the screw into the knob, some parallell alignement of these hexagonal details of both parts are needed. Use a clamp, parallell plyers or a vise to press screw into the knob. Gluing is not necessary. Slice several pcs of each size and print them at once. In that case, you always have a thumb screw of a desired size.
