Thumb Brace / Splint
thingiverse
Update 26th Feb 2022: Made the model thicker where it covers the palm to reduce likelihood of the splint breaking where the strap connects to the brace, and reduced poly count for easier editing. Modified this model in TinkerCAD slightly to fit just on the hand to support a sprained thumb whilst retaining wrist mobility, and rounded off the corners on the bottom to make it more comfortable. I also cut away some of the outer thumb section to make it more comfortable and reduce print time. I used a 2.5cm x 30cm velcro strap I bought on Amazon, but you could just as easily use nylon webbing or some kind of elastic. I also found a thumb support glove to wear underneath which makes it much more comfortable, but again this could be substituted for zinc oxide tape or some other support bandage. Please note this is not a medical device, nor is this medical advice. This model worked for my own purposes and I do not recommend anyone else uses this for any medical purpose.
