Thule Fairing Adapter

Thule Fairing Adapter

The file has one set up for outside use and another for inside use, requiring only two runs or can be processed through Slic3r to multiply it.\r\n\r\nAfter buying a fairing designed for an older style Aerobar kit for my VW without knowing the compatibility issue, I reached out to Thule about converting it between styles. Unfortunately, they did not offer any conversion kits.\r\nSo I took matters into my own hands and measured everything to create custom parts on my printer.\r\nSome adjustments are still needed (I'm currently using zip-ties and Velcro to hold mine together, but plan to replace the white ties with black ones soon), and with a higher resolution and infill setting on a better printer, it would be possible to add screw holes for a more professional look.\r\n\r\nSo far, I've taken my prototype down a 80mph road in the Midwest and it held up well except for some minor vibrations.\r\n\r\nThe clip-side needs to be reduced by about 2mm, but with my current printer's limitations on small lifts due to standoffs, that adjustment is challenging to achieve.\r\n\r\nThis project is ongoing, and I'll provide an update once I get a new printer capable of producing better quality prints than my M3D.
