The Thrustmaster FLCS F-16 sidestick is a great, inexpensive base to build a very good flight sim joystick by replacing the motherboard with a Teensy 2.0 or other MMJoy2 compatible microcontroller and swapping the potentiometers for linear Hall effect sensors and magnets, but it has a very large range of movement. With the Hall sensors you can set the axis resolution very high and cut the travel in half and it feels much lighter, smoother, and more responsive. Print two of these parts, hold down the plastic boot retaining ring while unscrewing the 4 screws (this helps avoid cracking this delicate part, then lifting the boot enough to slip a limiter in from either side (see rendering), and the travel is immediately cut down about 50%. As a bonus the end stops feel much more solid. Expect to need some tuning to the deadzone and response curves to get it to feel right, also an easy process in MMJoy2 Setup and DCS. 100% non-destructive, so if you don't like it, you're only out a little filament and time.
