New Update. I've been struggling to replicate this Thrustmaster component. Finding reliable pictures or measurements has proven difficult. The only data points I could gather were the tensioner arm it mounts to and the diameter of the tube it applies pressure to. My main challenge has been getting my initial designs to apply sufficient pressure to the throttle without requiring multiple turns of the thumb wheel. As a beginner, I've had to rely on YouTube tutorials to learn AutoCad basics, which limits my expertise. As I turn the thumb wheel to increase pressure, the tensioner pad's curvature changes, and compound curves have been a major headache for me. My MK2 design seems to address this issue by introducing an increased curvature at its midpoint, along with foam padding to reduce vibration. I've also applied Rod and Reel lubricant to the throttle. The MK2 design combined with foam padding has eliminated any sticktion issues, providing consistent pressure throughout the throttle's range of motion. In light of this success, I no longer recommend using a rubber pad; instead, opt for foam anti-vibration padding. I recently acquired an old Thrustmaster Cougar Throttle and found that the tension/brake pad had dried out, while the previous owner had attempted to repair it with duct tape wrapped around the tension arm. Using my calipers, I managed to create a replacement part based on a single picture I found. The new pads measure 2.5mm and 3mm thick; sanding them smooth yielded excellent results, especially with the 3mm option.
