A Simple Guide to Installing Filament Above Your Printer. To keep your spool elevated, use this plug as a guide to feed filament down through a shelf above your printer. Suitable for 5/8ths, 1/2 inch diameter filaments and setup for 3/4" thick shelf material. You can also use it with any shelf thickness ranging from 1/2-7/16 inches (or 1 1/4"). This design features a slight taper both at the top and bottom of the center, eliminating edge drag in most cases.
