Through-axle adapter cones for wheel truing

After a few hundred miles on my new bike, I noticed some loose spokes. After tightening them, I realized I'd pulled the wheel out of true… and I had no way to mount its through-axle hub on the truing stand (attachment to repair stand) designed for quick-release hubs.

While I've ordered a proper metal adapter, it won't arrive for a while and the weather's nice. So, I combined these printed cones with a salvaged quick-release skewer.

The larger cones are way larger than needed for my 12mm axle, but they are easy to hold and force up and down my rusty-despite-sanding skewer. The smaller cones were needed to fit the wider rear wheel.

The smaller cones taper from a 4mm radius / 8mm diameter up to 7mm radius / 14mm diameter over 16mm. The larger cones taper from a 4mm radius / 8mm diameter up to 16mm radius / 32mm diameter over 22mm. The FreeCAD file is enclosed if you wish different sizes.

The hole for the skewer is nominally 2.6mm radius/5.2mm diameter. This printed accurately but was still tight on my old, rust-pitted skewer.

Print tips: I set it up with a third perimeter and 8 bottom layers (2mm). Probably could have gone with fewer bottom layers, but my first draft at the default 4 squished a little when tightened (but still worked).
