In response to Thingiverse's Capture Your Town challenge, Cosmo Wenman has captured several locations in Anaheim, Southern California, which he refers to as his town. His 3D photoscan series depicts significant locations in the area, marked by tragic events that took place there. The first scan shows the ephemeral memorial at the spot where Manuel Diaz was shot to death by police on July 21, 2012. The second scan is of the street corner where residents were met with "less-than-lethal" small arms fire by the police. The third scan depicts Anaheim City Hall, where an overflow City Council meeting spilled into the streets and police opened up with more "less-than-lethal" fire on citizens. The fourth scan is of the Anaheim Police Department, where a truck cruised by slowly, holding up traffic behind them as two women leaned out to shout taunts at the building. The fifth scan shows a church that had begun boarding its windows in anticipation of potential unrest. Wenman took all his photos on July 28, 2012 and provides instructions for viewing the crude, unedited 3D photoscans. He also mentions related videos and news articles that provide more information on why these locations are significant and worth documenting.
