The Throat Slasher served as the personal starship of Yuuzhan Vong hunter Tsaa Qalu. It was a compact vessel that could be piloted by one person and was highly agile in flight. However, it also had enough space to carry two coralskippers. Behind the pilot's station, a corridor led to another room and an airlock, which provided access to the fighter docks and a storage compartment used for prisoner transport. Co-pilot Laph Rapuung shared piloting duties with Qalu, possibly making up the entire crew of the ship. In 27 ABY, the Throat Slasher was deployed to track down No Luck Required from Wayland to Thyferra. However, it met its demise when Dug prisoner Leaft escaped and commandeered one of the coralskippers, causing Qalu's vessel to crash into a mountain face.
