I strolled through my garage this morning and couldn't help but notice how downbeat my trusty old compound miter saw looked. Since I'd need it in just a few weeks when I start working with my CNC machine, I decided to give it some much-needed attention right away. This saw was built back in '88 and has been a faithful companion of mine for over 10 years after my dad handed it down to me. Even then, though, it was already showing signs of wear and tear, but after all these years of frequent use and regrettable neglect, it had become almost unusable. As part of the cleanup process, I whipped up a quick throat plate in Fusion 360 to replace the dried-out and cracked one that was barely holding on.
