Thrift Store Ancient Relic -- Digitized!
thingiverse
A local thrift store revealed an item considered ancient, which was scanned on the MakerBot Digitizer for the seventh time. The Digitizer aims to be a budget-friendly, simple 3D scanning device compatible with MakerBot Desktop 3D Printers. This scan demonstrated significant progress, particularly in automatically closing the mesh. The software identified the item's base, generating a closed surface, rendering the model watertight or "manifold" in technical terms. This result required no cleanup and was ready for 3D printing.
