Three wheeled walker curb jumper

Three wheeled walker curb jumper

I designed this for my dad for his three wheeled travel walker. He's got a similar part on his “daily driver”, but this walker came without this sort of feature and it makes it a lot easier to get the front wheel up on an obstacle like a curb or door jamb. It fits walkers with about a 25mm tube to the right rear axle tube, as seen from the users point of view. The device is clamped to the walker tubing with four 2.5"  6x32 machine screws, eight flat washers and four nylock nuts. The hardware store ran out of 2.5" screws so the example in the photo has 3" screws on the bottom that stick out a bit. I printed it in PETG on an Ender 3 S1 Pro, with some modified settings for extra strength. My first version broke when testing, so I redesigned it with a much larger four screw clamp, a gusset on the lever, as well as very thick walls and more infill. It now seems sufficiently robust, though the walker is pretty light and you don't really need to stomp on it to get the front wheel up, you mostly just kind of put your foot on it and pull towards yourself on the handlebars. Printed with Hatchbox orange PETG. Print temp 230C for good adhesion between the layers, 90C bed temp.  .4mm nozzleNo supports needed. 4mm walls, top and bottom. 50% infill.
