Three Spool Filament Dryer (Dehydrator)

Three Spool Filament Dryer (Dehydrator)

I'm just experimenting with drying out your filament. The water in the wet filament turns into steam and causes hot plastic to shoot out of the nozzle, creating a mess on the side of the print. I've been trying to find a way to deal with this problem, so I store it in bags with a desiccant, but that isn't always enough. I live in an area with pretty high humidity and have lots of issues with wet filament. My wife wouldn't let me use her new stove for drying out my filament, so I had to think up something else. The idea was to get a used dehydrator from a second-hand store, which would solve the problem. Luckily, one came in at a very low price. To protect it, I wrapped some leftover plastic sheeting around the base and top of the dehydrator. It can dry three rolls of filament in just two hours. Alternatively, you could cover poster board with packing tape for similar protection. I'd love to hear about other ways that makers like me handle wet filament problems. Thanks for reading this note!
