Three-sided tripod base with reliefs
myminifactory
This is a three-sided base with relief carvings, unearthed in Athens. One side showcases Dionysus, the deity of wine and patron of theater, grasping a kantharos and a thyrsus. Each of the other two sides features a winged Nike. The base held a bronze votive tripod dedicated by a victorious choregos in a drama competition. The figures are associated with the workshop of Praxiteles based on stylistic analysis.
