Three Planet Bearing, .5 Tolerance
thingiverse
This is a customized print gearbox that combines classic and modern features in one all-in-one unit. I created this model after struggling to successfully print various other gearboxes, so I tailored the tolerance for ease of printing on most machines. I also experimented with adding variables such as the four-teethed gears, which perform admirably. This print comes out relatively loose but maintains structural integrity. You can try using it right away or customize its settings to suit your specific needs. You'll need a 3D printer and a reliable filament source to bring this model to life. If you'd like to tweak the print settings, here's a starting point: Tol (tolerance) = 0.5 mm, number of teeth on the planets = four, number of planets in orbit = three, approximate number of teeth on the central sun-shaped piece = nine, twist factor = one turn, wire thickness = 6.7 units, P parameter = fifty, T setting = fifteen, and D setting = fifty.
