Three-dimensional chess (Laser cut)

Here's my version of 3D chess from Star Trek, reworked with a nod to jwrm22's ingenious design. I tweaked the traditional chess pieces to give them a futuristic twist. First, I laser-cut square bases out of 1mm clear perspex, then created clear and translucent blue squares using 2mm or 3mm perspex. With Tensol 12 as my trusty adhesive, I assembled the entire structure (check out the picture for a better look). Next, I crafted a sturdy stand from 6mm perspex and attached the squares to it in the same configuration shown in the image.
