Three Cube Gears
thingiverse
This revamped Cube Gears design features an enhanced snap pin system, ensuring easier insertion, stronger snaps, and improved reliability in printing. Users can select from three distinct gear ratios based on the filename numbers. Individual parts are exportable via Customizer, along with the option to add custom embossed text on large gears. Please begin by attaching the pins into the central block prior to placing the gears. If you print with low infill, be cautious of potential weak spots inside the gear holes, as they might compromise pin integrity. An update to the pin library has addressed this issue by incorporating small slits that trick slicers into generating internal webs for added strength. For smoother operation and easier insertion/removal, lubricate pins with white lithium grease or any equivalent substance. Note that only the pins are interchangeable between distinct ratio cubes; each one has unique center blocks, while larger gears align with larger central block faces. Printing occurs on MakerWare medium defaults in PLA, and support is unnecessary.
