The text discusses a cost-effective threaded tube that allows for sturdy and lightweight structures to be built. Notably, an update corrected a structural deficiency by creating male-male connectors and female-female tubes, ensuring improved strength in printing. The updated design now has fully 150mm tall tubes, with two connected tubes equaling 300mm. Additionally, mirrored versions of the new tube and connector are included, where threads are reversed on one end. A second update added hollow versions of the connector and tube, reducing thread count in the tube for a 14g weight at 2 shells and 100% infill. Instructions for slicing with MakerWare 2.2.2.89 "Standard" profile are provided, along with details on the model's optimized .2mm layer height and .4mm wall thickness. An OpenSCAD file is included to generate various configurations, and a break-away "foot" is attached to the bottom of the model for improved bed adhesion during printing.
