Threaded Rod De-Wobbler - Tapered Coupler
thingiverse
I'm trying to combine two different concepts: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2039065 and www.thingaverse.com/thing:2038369. In my opinion, the threaded nut coupling is superior to the hose clamp method. However, due to a misalignment issue with my motor mount and threaded rod, I've found that a flexible coupling works better than a rigid one in my situation. The original metal mount is perfectly straight, just like the threaded rod itself. This means that any wobble must be absorbed by some sort of flexure somewhere along the line. In fact, I previously addressed this issue by making the motor mount itself flexible enough to allow for movement. But I'm intrigued by this new solution and think it's worth exploring further. So far, I haven't had a chance to install it, but I wanted to share my thoughts with the community anyway.
