thingiverse
The ever-reliable 6V flashlight from Eveready clocks in at $5. It arrives with a fantastically bright LED, an excellent lens, and seamless access to solder on your own power leads without any need for disassembly. This versatile light can be easily adapted into various applications such as desk lamps, bike lights, or ultra-cheap fog lights - the possibilities are endless! Additionally, because it operates at 6V, you can power it from a USB port (though, to unlock its full potential, you would need to boost it up from the standard 5V). Even when operating at just 5V, these lights remain remarkably bright. As evident on Thingiverse's http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:892007 webpage, the ring replicates the standard flashlight housing's threading. This means you can craft any desired cover for the light itself and easily integrate it with this extremely cheap yet incredibly powerful LED in your design software. The source files from freeCAD have also been provided to simplify incorporating or modifying this component into your own project. The specifications are as follows: inner diameter is 42.75mm radius, while the outer diameter measures 49mm. Print Settings Rafts Do not worry about rafts; they do not affect the outcome. Supports It doesn't matter whether supports are used or not; both will work fine. Resolution Choose a resolution of 0.25 to achieve excellent results. Notes These instructions were created using a Lulzbot mini with a nozzle diameter of 0.5mm. If your printer has a smaller nozzle diameter, the fitment might be loose. However, scaling the design by a small margin should make the Eveready ring fit snugly.
