Threaded Plugs for 5/8" and 7/8" Holes
thingiverse
This is a threaded plug and matching nut for closing up a 5/8 inch hole in the wall of an enclosure or similar. We use these to seal the pre-drilled holes we make in remote monitoring enclosures for optional external antennas that utilize N-female bulkheads. Although this bolt will close a standard U.S. 5/8 inch hole, the hex bolt head is 22mm from flat-to-flat because I'm working in metric measurements. We always use adjustable crescent wrenches to tighten these down. For water and weatherproofing, we typically add a buna/nitrile o-ring with an ID of 9/16 inches, OD of 3/4 inch, and diameter of 3/32 inches. Any o-ring within those dimensions will work fine, such as an ID of 5/8 inch and diameter of 1/16 inch. We've updated the design to have coarser threads that are easier to print. A new v10 STL file is available with a looser nut that mates more easily.
