Threaded Inserts for Wood Turned Wig Stands
thingiverse
I insert these pieces when shaping wig stands. When bonded with epoxy which is allowed to harden thoroughly (like 24 hours) they enable the turning of the top and the base with the piece mounted directly on the one-inch-by-eight threads-per-inch spindle. Use extra caution when turning and support outside edge of piece with a "wood washer." See pictures. The .scad file is included to allow modification of the inserts to use different threads and to adjust for differences in printers and filaments. Wig Stand Insert.scad requires the use of the thread.scad library. I appreciate Dan Kirshner's contribution.
