This egg was intended to be printed 15cm tall overall, with a single wall on a 0.6mm nozzle for a trade-off between strength and material usage. I used a 0.24 layer height.The top part of the egg uses 0 initial bottom layers and 3 global bottom layers. Top layers is your choice, start with 4 and work up if you have any gaps.The top part has a custom STL support "egg support disc" if you want to use this instead of your slicer's default supports as it should be just a single trace and more economical and reliable. You can load this to your slicer as a regular model. You may have to scale the ring's Z dimension so that you're left with at least 1-2 layers of gap. The overhang begins at Z = 9.63mm. Use brim supports on both pieces.The bottom part used 2 top & bottom layers (global), however, had a mesh modifier (a big box is fine). I use Cura and my modifier has these qualities: (1) Scale - XY >107mm, Z = 48.5mm. (2) mesh height Z = 9.6mm, elevated over build plate. (3) Modifier type - "cutting mesh". (4) modifier settings of 0 bottom layers in order to leave the inside exposed (essentially not printing the diaphragm you see in the STL) and 3 top layers. These settings should yield skin that starts building around Z = 47mm with 5 total layers for the flattened part of the egg (3 from the mesh + 2 global). Again, you can add more if you're seeing holes but this worked for me.Notes: The way I created that diaphragm for the lower half in MeshMixer seems to not have made it completely flat, so if you have some weird squiggly wall line at Z = 9.2mm then that's all that is. I suppose if your layer height is tall enough it may not appear at all. Don't worry it won't affect the appearance of anything, just trim it away after printing.If you import the STLs as-is and choose an aligned Z seam scheme in the slicer, maintaining the global orientation of that seam between the build plate and part for both halves (printing each independently), the seams should line up when assembled. An egg made following all the above parameters should weigh around 50g.
