This set of textures addresses a gap in Autodesk Showcase 2015's library by providing cosmetic thread textures. It includes a texture image, a normal map essential for optimal results in Showcase, and a "bump" or "displacement" map useful in applications supporting bump maps but not normal maps. The lines are straight, requiring rotation of the texture post-application to create a helical wrap. However, this versatility allows scaling and rotating for threads of varying sizes and numbers of starts. The semi-rounded thread profile can be altered by adjusting displacement depth and lighting to mimic different profiles.
