To detach a suppressor or heavy muzzle device from a Browning-type locking action, a specific thread size of 1/2x28 is required on the barrel. This is not necessary for fixed barrels. Springs, such as the ones found on Lee Spring's website, are used in this process. Recommended springs include LC 098K 0S (0.845-0.875 inches, 0.098 inch wire diameter, 1.250 inches long, with a 65 lb/in force, and 0.617-0.629 inches free length). Other options are LC 091K 0S (similar measurements but with a 50.31 lb/in force) and LC 100K 02S (with a 79.10 lb/in force). The gemt spring approximates a 65-90 lb/in force.
