Thracian votive bas relief, Greece, Macedonia, Melnik, 2nd century AD, marble. Musée d'Art et d'Histoire (Musée du Cinquantenaire, Brussels). Made with ReMake and ReCap Pro. The god Asdules, a Dionysus equivalent, gallops ahead of an enormous vine teeming with harvesters in love. He grasps Pan's beard as he follows. Before him stands Silenus, his body covered in hair, dressed in vintage attire. The dedication to the god is formulated by the owners and workers of a Thracian wine estate. "Claudianos Pyrrhos and Pyrrhos, son of Landros, along with their servants, dedicate this relief to Asdules in 246." For more updates, consider following me on Twitter at @GeoffreyMarchal.
