Thracian Funerary Bas-Relief, Greece, Thessalonica, 64 CE, Marble. Musée d'Art et d'Histoire (Musée du Cinquantenaire, Brussels, Belgium). Made with ReMake and Recap Pro from AutoDesk. The Thracian horseman is prominently carved in the upper register of this bas-relief. He sits confidently on his prancing horse, brandishing a spear directly at a boar that's already being threatened by his dog. A veiled woman stands before him. In the lower register, four characters are likely representing the family of the deceased. The epitaph is inscribed along the edge of the stele and is dated to 95 CE, according to the Actium era (which begins in 31 BCE). The epitaph reads: "To such an one, her husband, and to Pyrrhus, her father; in remembrance, to themselves still alive."
