Project was designed to restore my old gas lamp and supply a radiation source for DIY radiation detectors testing. To understand the connection between these topics, check out the links below. Making Process: 1. I collected an old broken gas lamp mantle with dirt and dust in a zip bag. 2. The dirty zip bag was placed inside another zip bag. 3. The zip bags were folded in half and put under a book to flatten them. 4. 3D-printing was started until the cavity bridging began. 5. Printing was paused, and I pushed the folded zip bags into the partially bridged cavity, then resumed printing. 6. When letter printing started, I paused printing again, changed the filament to brown, and finished printing. Notes: - Special pause commands were not used in this case. - I watched the printing closely and manually paused it to insert content or change the filament. - Interesting design challenge & solution: Q: How do you chamfer the edge of an internal cavity that's inaccessible by mouse selection? A: Switch to a wireframe model where you can see inside the object, then select the internal edge to chamfer.
