A Handcrafted Tap Handle for My Kegerator - A Thor Tap Handle I designed specifically for my homebrew setup. The model was printed on a 3D printer using PLA at a moderate temperature of 75% with added support structures to ensure stability. Notably, the bottom features a pre-drilled hole meant for a tap handle insert. To assemble this tap handle, you simply need to print it out, carefully remove the internal and external supports, and then screw in the insert. If the hole is slightly too small, try warming up the insert by gently heating it until it softens the PLA material surrounding it. Update: Following my initial post, I have uploaded two revised files - Thor Tap-V2.1.stl and Thor Tap-V2.2.stl. A recent incident involving a broken hammer prompted me to redesign this tap handle for improved security. The new version features a larger hole at the bottom that perfectly accommodates the hammer's pommel. To create a more secure connection, I recommend printing the tap handle as is, and then flipping the hammer upside down with 100% infill. Once you've achieved the desired level of solidity, use 5-minute epoxy to firmly attach the hammer within the tap handle, creating a rock-solid assembly that's perfect for your kegerator setup.
