The Thomson Atom Model was a groundbreaking scientific theory proposed by Sir Joseph John Thomson in 1897. According to this model, an atom is composed of a positively charged sphere surrounded by negatively charged electrons that are embedded within the sphere. This theoretical framework was a major departure from the prevailing understanding of atoms at the time and laid the groundwork for the development of subsequent atomic models.
