Thomas the Train Trackmaster Lego Car

This train car is designed specifically for the Thomas Trackmaster train set. The flat Lego-inspired top allows kids to build freely on it. I created this object with Sketchup Make after listening to my children argue over which train car they wanted to play with. Now, they can build their own unique trains! The file was generated using Sketchup Make and is included in the SKP format for easy modification. You're free to experiment and make adjustments as needed. I'm open to suggestions on how to improve the design of the connector piece that joins the top and bottom parts. It currently requires some clipping, but I'd love to hear your ideas on how to simplify it! Note: I borrowed the Lego components from Ben Peters' (bengineering) Lego Brick Thingiverse design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:377523. Print Settings: * Printer: Da Vinci Jr. 1.0w * Rafts: Yes * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.4mm * Infill: 25% Notes: I printed this object on my XYZPrinting Da Vinci Jr. 1.0w using the "Excellent" quality setting and a Raft due to the small hook pieces. The Raft helped secure the print in place. Post-Printing: Support Removal: After printing, you'll need to remove the five supports from the bottom wheeled part if you didn't use the no_supports object. I used a knife to carefully cut them away. Additionally, I sanded down the top piece where the connector clip fits for a better connection. Assembly: 1) Place the hook parts into their respective openings on the bottom piece, ensuring the front hook's mouth faces downwards. 2) Attach the top part to the bottom and secure it with the connector clip. My PLA filament was flexible enough to accommodate this, but I hope your filament will work just as well.
