I wanted a more screen accurate Thomas the Thermonuclear Bomb but couldn't find one. This was my answer. It's not a perfect match to the one in the viral video but it's the closest I've seen. Here’s some fun flight footage of Thomas in action: https://youtu.be/100MIk4kBsA The bomb is about 165mm long and it takes roughly 12h and 100g of PLA to print all the parts. The Face is held on thanks to 4 embedded 8x1mm disk magnets (2 in face and 2 in the body) which are embedded by pausing the printer early on in the print. This is so that you can easily remove the face to access two holes behind the eyes where you can add two 3mm red LEDs if you want Thomas to give you nightmares. If you don't care about blowing smoke out the chimney or glowing red eyes you can forgo the magnets and glue the face straight on. Printing: >-You will need to print "Thermonuclear_Bomb.stl" once, face down, with support material only at the chimney and nowhere else. If using magnets and printing at 0.2mm layer height you will want to pause your printer at layer 9 to insert the magnets >-Print "Face_w_Magnets.stl" once. If using magnets and 0.2mm layer height, pause at layer 10. However to get the details in the Face, 0.08mm layer height is recommended >-Print "Bumper.stl" twice and then glue them in. What you'll need: >Some super glue >4x 8x1mm disk magnets (optional) >2x 3mm red LED + power source (button batteries work well) ((also optional)) UPDATE 08/04: >Uploaded a Surprised Thomas Face option. There is one version that takes magnets and LEDs, one that doesn't take magnets or LEDs and one takes LEDs but no magnets. Please note: I haven't test printed these faces yet. UPDATE 17/03: >Uploaded a 83mm solid version (See: "TTB_Small_Body.stl" and "TTB_SmallChimney.stl"). It's in 2 parts so that the chimney doesn't require supports. The chimney press fits in and doesn't need glue.
