A recreation of a drop candy roller from Thomas Mills & Bros patented in 1871. Designed for American candy stores to make confectionary, this device was a key tool for making drop candy. Artstation Project I built this model after watching Lofty Pursuits - Victorian Nectar Drop Candy, which showcased the roller's mechanics and design. Its intricacies sparked my interest, leading me to recreate it as accurately as possible and bring it to life in animation. To achieve this, I studied several patent designs online, drawn marketing references from historical catalogues, and analyzed screenshots from Lofty Pursuits' videos and images. I modeled the roller within 3DS Max, sculpted details using Zbrush, and baked them for added texture. Finally, I textured it in Substance Painter with custom materials created in Designer.
