I recently conducted a thorough scan of the Thomas Boulsover sculpture in Sheffield City Centre, situated conveniently on the corner of the museum just a short distance from the Crucible Theatre. As a pivotal figure in the history of steel production in Sheffield, Thomas Boulsover's contributions cannot be overstated. During my recent visit to the city, I was inspired to create a small-scale souvenir of the sculpture. To showcase its potential as a printed model, I've included photos of two versions: one made using painted 3D printing and another created through bronze cold casting. The scan was successfully completed with the Sony 3D Creator app on an Xperia XZ1 Compact smartphone, resulting in a remarkably accurate representation of the sculpture's shape.
