Third hand solder SMD
thingiverse
This small assembly makes it easy to hold a SMD component in place while soldering on a printed circuit board. To build this assembly, you will need two 3D-printed parts and the following additional components: * A small spring: you can use an old clothespin or purchase one online. * A needle: search for "SMD needle" to find suitable options. * An M4 screw and nut: these are standard fasteners. This assembly is inspired by a design I found online, but with some key improvements. The original design had a few drawbacks: * It required support material during printing * The editing process was more complicated than necessary due to the gallows-like structure * It used a different spring and needle model I've created a simplified version that addresses these issues and is easier to use.
