Replace Radio Shack's Helping Hands' magnifying lens with a ball joint-equipped Vise Left derivative; print the part with external support, cleaned using a knife and file. Use 1/4" rod and bore holes with a 1/4" drill bit by hand, widening them with a hobby file for easy sliding. Mount the part on Helping Hands without tightening too much, rotating to smooth metal around the ball joint. Finally, tighten and use the product!
