Thinkware F50 Ram Mount
thingiverse
Work in progress. This mounting kit is designed for a Thinkware F50 Dashcam, offering an alternative to the permanent 3M stick mounts that came with it. The goal was to incorporate a suction cup mount, which I've had good experiences with from using RAM mounts. This direct fit kit matches perfectly with the 1" Ball mount, and FreeCAD models have been uploaded for reference. While modifying the model to be threaded without inserts is an option, I chose to use heat-set inserts instead due to concerns about stripping the plastic. Stainless fasteners are not necessary; any M3x0.5mm threaded fastener will work. At present, I'm searching for a thumb screw to replace the allen wrench requirement for adjusting the mount. The first prototype was printed in PLA, and I'll provide an update on how it handles sunlight over time. Pictures will be uploaded later. The following parts were used: - 1" RAM mount: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008JGZMZK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - M3 Allen Screws: McMaster Part No. 92095A185, available at https://www.mcmaster.com/#92095a185/=194rwwe - M3 Heat-Set Threaded Insert: McMaster Part No. 94180A333, accessible at https://www.mcmaster.com/#94180a333/=194rwo6
