This is a custom trackpoint cap designed for the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet. The original part tends to degrade rapidly, rendering the laptop unusable after only a few months due to trackpoint malfunction. Unfortunately, spare parts are extremely hard to come by... For some unknown reason, Lenovo refuses to supply replacements outside of the US and their support team seems oblivious to the availability of these spares.\r\n\r\nAfter spending over a month on the phone with Lenovo's customer service, going around in circles with no resolution in sight, I found myself facing an ultimatum: switch to the slow and clunky touchpad (ugh, I hate touchpads with a passion - mine is disabled) or replace the worn-out trackpoint cap. In the end, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create a replacement. To date, it's working flawlessly and has restored my ThinkPad to its former glory.
